The Netscape browser was once one of the most widely used web browsers in the world because it contained a number of advanced features. It has since fallen out of favor. The browser does include many of the basics such as tabbed browsing, add-ons and strong privacy features. It looks and feels similar to the Firefox browser because it is based on the same underlying code called Mozilla. The two unique features in Netscape are a link box and a simple browser pane. The link box allows you to dock website links without bookmarking them. The simple browser displays pages fast without much formatting or the graphics. The main problem with Netscape is that support for the browser and updates ceased in 2008 although it is still highly functional.
